History
Eric was raised in Victoria, British Columbia, in a family of dedicated health care professionals. His grandfather, Dr. Walter Bapty, served in both World Wars, and was commended for his work caring for injured soldiers during the Battle of Vimy Ridge. His mother worked as a nurse in a peadiatric burn unit in London during World War II, and his father served as a physician during the evacuation of Dunkerque and the campaign in Northern Africa. It was in Africa that Dr. Leonard Bapty was awarded the Military Cross for his bravery and dedication to the wounded men in his unit. Both Walter and Leonard Bapty had medical practices in Victoria where they continued to serve those in need of their expert care.
After working as a nurse in various hospital wards in Victoria, Eric apprenticed in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Shoe-Making in Great Britain subsequently graduating with a degree from the University of Strathclyde, then recognized as the world leader in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics. On his return to Canada, he decided to specialize in the field of Orthotics, working in several facilities in Vancouver and Edmonton before finishing his internship and successfully completing his Canadian Examinations.
In 1994, Eric moved his family to Hamilton where he established Advanced Orthodynamics to provide his clients with the best in innovative bracing techniques and design. In everything he does, Eric strives to continue the family tradition of service with the utmost in caring and understanding.
